Overview
I participated as a UX and Visual Designer in the development of a new feature for Samsung's Calendar application as part of the R&D team. The project focused on solving user problems, data sharing, and improving the overall user experience through the introduction of innovative features. Among the five team members, I collaborated most closely with a UX designer, Hyeon-Seung Lee. This project experience was filled with learning new things, communicating with incredible people, and being bold and active.
Peer-review
"...Overall, her performance was highly satisfactory. She is able to effectively communicate her ideas and solutions to the co-workers, and her ability to adapt and respond to their needs was highly appreciated.”
Jiwon stands out as one of the brightest, most dedicated co-workers I have ever met for 10 years of work experiences. During our time together for the intensive UX project, she quickly understood the essence of the problem, redefined the problem and presented it in her own way. She concerned not only the entire project, but also the details. I think her work ability about graphical abilities, design skills and analyzing big data is very enough for the real working-level. Overall, her performance was highly satisfactory. She is able to effectively communicate her ideas and solutions to the co-workers, and her ability to adapt and respond to their needs was highly appreciated.

What I learned
1. Bringing visuals and/or daily examples which everyone can empathize with is helpful when sharing ideas with cross-functional partners. By sharing concrete examples ideas applied and trend data, I could better communicate with and persuade my idea not only to a UX designer but also data scientist and product manager.
2. Setting priorities and sharing my timeline builds trust. In our first meeting, I completed the most important part and my timeline. This validated my skills and helped me be more flexible.
3. Being responsible for all range of project beyond my role! At first, my role was designing product strategy material esthetically and effectively. In the middle of the project, I found the point in previous problem and solution statement and storyline, I suggested new ideas. Finally, I received highly positive feedback from peers.
